Youth in Revolt

January 10th, 2010

I saw Youth in Revolt on opening night and was laughing-out-loud hysterically. Michael Cera plays his normal nerdy, not so hot with girls character by the name of Nick Twisp who is trying to lose his virginity, but also has an alter ego that is exactly the opposite of his role. He finds himself falling madly in love with the girl of his dreams and decides that he will do anything to be with her…anything. Sheeni Saunders played by Portia Doubleday plays her roles as a cute femme fatale as she gets Nick to do what it takes to be with her. Youth in Revolt has other well known actors such as Steve Buscemi, Justin Long, and Jean Smart. The movie has a countless amount of laughs and will keep you interested and entertained until the very end.

Sherlock Holmes

Sherlock Holmes (played by Robert Downy Jr.) is exceedingly better than I imaged it would be. It is extremely well written and will keep you thinking the entire movie. Jude Law (Dr. Watson) with his performance working with Robert was absolutely phenomenal. Watching the movie, you can really feel the bond within the two characters friendship. I give mad props to Guy Ritchie and the writers for their outstanding job on creating this excellent film and I will be looking forward to a sequel.

Avatar

Avatar 3D on Imax revolutionized the 3D movies in my life. Before Avatar, I had only seen a few 3D movies and was never really impressed. Avatar definatly had the looks of an awesome movie, but did it have anything else? Yes, Avatar had a good story overall. Jake Sully (played by Sam Worthington) takes his deceased brothers place in the military to control his avatar. He is then later torn between saving lives or following orders. Avatar is a must see film and I highly suggest going to an Imax screening.
